Act of God is a full-length comedic drama by James O'Reilly.
In this one-man showcase Jim reminisces about events in his life,
including the time he was struck by lightning.
Act of God is a one-man show about surviving a lightning
storm. When someone is
struck and killed by lightning it is called an "Act of God".
On the event of his 40th birthday, Jim is in the dentists chair for
the first time in 20 years. As he counts backwards from 100 and the anesthetic kicks in, his mind wanders back through a childhood spent
on the road and an incomprehensible Act of God that changed
everything.
Act of God premiered in 2009 at Theatre Passe Muraille in
Toronto.
