About the Play:

Any Body Home? is a full-length a mystery comedy by Carl Ritchie and Elaine Dewsberry. The play deals with the problems of a real estate agent who finds the owner of one of her properties dead on the day of the open house. An exotic neighbour, the home owner's boyfriend, and a competing real estate agent just add to the hilarious twists of the plot.

Any Body Home? tells the story of real estate broker Susan Strathcona who wants to hold an open house, sell a condo, and earn her commission. Frustrating her attempts are the owner's fiancé and male model, Brock Palmerston who is bursting to prove his masculinity; Prudence Woburn the "cougar" next door with her deadly herbs and a scorpion named "Shirley"; the international police agent, Dana Highway, is on the trail of the mysterious "Phantom"; and a rival real estate agent, Warren Danforth, who will don any disguise in his attempts to steal the listing. Oh, yes… And the owner – who is dead and laid out on the sofa! The guessing – and the fun – never stops in this uproariously funny "who dunnit" filled with hilarious characters and situations.

Any Body Home? was first produced in 1998 by the Cordova Bay Theatre Company at Herald Street Centre for the Arts in Victoria, British Columbia. The play is regularly performed in community theatre productions.
