About the Book:

At Home With Kate offers an inside look at Katherine Hepburn's life and home, from the vantage of Eileen Considine-Meara, daughter of Katharine Hepburn's live-in cook and housekeeper. Subtitled Growing Up in Katharine Hepburn's Household, this extraordinary book reveals the real woman behind the icon, sharing her daily rituals and telling stories of the many famous friends she frequently entertained, including Sidney Poitier, Lauren Bacall, Robert Wagner, and many more.

What people say:

"Here are the memories, the people, the recipes that were closest to Kate Hepburn's heart—her extended family under the guidance of the great caretaker and cook Norah and Norah's loving Irish heirs. This is an unusual look from downstairs to upstairs at the long life of America's #1 female Oscar-winning star. You can never get closer to the great Kate than with this memoir/scrapbook/treasure trove of Hepburn goodies! A don't-miss for collectors." — Liz Smith, syndicated columnist

About the Author:

Eileen Considine-Meara is the daughter of Norah Considine, who was Katherine Hepburn's cook and housekeeper in Hepburn's Turtle Bay town house and Connecticut estate for thirty years, starting when the author was ten. In addition to cooking and serving Hepburn's meals and arranging her social events, Norah Considine and her daughter, who frequently lent a hand, became close confidants and friends of the film icon.
