About the Play:

Exposure contains two dramas by Greg MacArthur. Expose yourself to one of Canada's  most original voices in theatre with this collection of two uncompromising plays. Snowman portrays the consequences of the discovery of the ancient corpse of a young boy in a glacier. girls! girls! girls! is based on the tragic death of B.C. teenager Reena Virk.

Snowman: After years of wandering, Denver and Marjorie find themselves in a remote northern community at the edge of a glacier, chopping wood, renting out stolen videos and doing cocaine with Jude, a teenager whose parents have abandoned him. When Jude discovers the body of a prehistoric boy frozen deep into the glacier, everyone finds their lives beginning to shift and thaw in unexpected ways. Snowman premiered in 2003 at Imago Theatre in Montréal, Québec and has been back on stage several times ever since. It was presented at the Revue Stage in Vancouver in 2011 and received seven nominations for the Jessie Richardson Theatre Awards.

What people say:

"For truly provocative theatre from a new voice, go see Snowman … it’s loopy, quirky and beautifully done." — CBC

girls! girls! girls!: Splitz deserved to win. Missy stole first place. Set in the cutthroat world of high school gymnastics, this play follows the Friday-night exploits of four teenage chums as they seek revenge for a loss on the vaulting horse. Told in a hypnotic, rap-meets-nursery-rhymes style, this play, which takes its cue from A Clockwork Orange and the Columbine massacre, is brutally violent as it explores what happens when emptiness becomes the norm. girls! girls! girls! was first produced by Teatro Comaneci at the Montreal Fringe Festival in 2000. This production was remounted in 2001 as part of Montreal’s Féstival de théâtre des Amériques.

What people say:

"[girls! girls! girls! is] wondrous, scary and heartbreakings." — Montreal Mirror
