About the Book:
The royalty-free scenes in Fractured Fairy Tales for Student
Actors are laugh-out-loud funny and clever, to boot!
This collection of comedic fairy tale spoofs by Jan Peterson
Ewen is divided into two sections: Short five-minute scenes for
two or three actors and longer ten-minute scenes for six to twenty
actors. Each scene is a comedic re-enactment of a classic fairy tale.
Well-known characters face contemporary situations or have new issues
of their own. Sample titles include:
• Have a Seat: Miss Muffet sends the spider up a waterspout.
• Is the Doctor In? Jack and Jill seek medical help.
• Go for the Gold: Sportscasters are interviewing Sprat out at
the track where he does his training for candlestick jumping; and
many more.
Most of the characters may be played by either gender, and several
scenes can be expanded to accommodate an entire classroom. Unlike
most scene books, the table of contents even indicates the cast size
and genders along with a one line summary. Easy to use and fun for
all ages, you'll love the colourful characters and creative
situations in these short, hysterical scenes. Excellent contest
material.
