About
the Book:
HARD TO FIND BOOK, only a very limited number of copies are still
available.
A unique focus on filmmaking, as seen through the eyes of many of
film's best-known artists. In addition to completely updating and
revising the first edition of From
Script to Screen, the authors have added a
substantial new section that is an extensive case study of the
Academy Award winning film, A Beautiful Mind, including
exclusive participation by Ron Howard.
What goes into the making of Hollywood's greatest motion pictures?
Find out as veteran script consultant Linda Seger and communications
professor Edward Jay Whetmore examine several screenplays on
their perilous journeys from script to screen. Along the way you'll
meet the industry's leading writers, directors, producers, actors,
editors, composers, and others behind the scenes. From their unique
vantage points, personalities as diverse as Oliver Stone,
Barry Levinson, Ridley Scott, Norman Jewison,
Lawrence Kasdan, Robin Williams, Henry Mancini,
and John Lithgow reveal the alchemy they use to bring great
stories to life. What's more, From
Script to Screen is as provocative as the films it
investigates.
What people say:

a unique resource for film professionals and movie buffs alike."
— Kathleen Kennedy, producer: E.T., Jurassic
Park
