Florence Ryerson (1892-1965) was an American playwright and screenwriter. She is best known as one of the writers of the screenplays for the eternal children's classic "The Wizard of Oz," which was one of her final film-writing efforts. She met Colin Clements while he was in California in 1926 directing a small play. When the couple married the following year they almost immediately began working as a team. By 1945 they had churned out: eight novels, over 100 short stories (six that were serialized in magazines), three books of monologues, and in excess of fifty plays and screenplays.

Colin Campbell Clements (1894-1948) was the author of plays and detective stories, often co-written with his wife, Florence Ryerson. They lived in Santa Barbara in early 1930s, then moved to Beverly Hills and became screenwriters.
