About the Play:

Love Nest for Three is a full-length comedy by John Patrick, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Teahouse of the August Moon. This humorous play contains a series of three one-act plays about the humorous games of love in New York apartments.

Love Nest for Three consists of three one-act plays linked into a triple bill for a full evening of entertainment. Each adult comedy depicts amorous events in a different apartment on the sixth floor of a New York apartment building. The actors play different roles in each apartment.

Decisions tells the story of a girl who has been living with two different men and invites both of them to a conference to decide which one she will marry.

Strategy reveals the plan by which a single girl successfully discourages her predatory male guests.

Progression is the story of light-hearted infidelity and how the trapped lover escapes detection by dressing as a Spanish Speaking maid.

Decisions, Strategy, and Progression were first performed in 1974 as a triple-bill under the collective title Love Nest For Three. The play has become a favourite scene study vehicle in acting classes and workshops and has been performed in regional, college, and community theatre productions.

Cast: 1 female, 2 male
