The acclaimed Samuel French Off Off Broadway Original Short Play Festival in Manhattan (commonly referred to as OOB) is America's leading short play festival. The annual OOB Festival originated in 1975 and has since attracted US and international short plays that may be up to 15 pages in length from countries like Canada, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

Off Off Broadway Festival Plays, 44th Series is a collection of short plays selected by a panel of judges that included New York playwrights, artistic directors, and industry leaders as the most important plays of the 44th OOB Festival. Over the course of five days, the festival presented 30 finalist works, selected from more than 900 submissions worldwide. Six short plays were named the winners of the 2019 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival. The six winning authors are: Bonnie Antosh, Jeff Ronan, Rodney Witherspoon II, Bixby Elliot, Daniel Hirsch, and Becky McLaughlin.

A Small Breach in Protocol at Big Rick's Rockin' Skydive Academy is a short comedy by Daniel Hirsch: In the 60 seconds between jumping out of an airplane and deploying their parachutes, when their bodies are plummeting to the earth at a rate of 120 miles-per-hour, four people have much to think about their lives and how those lives will be forever changed when – or, if – they get their feet back on the ground. Stay for Dinner is a short comedy by Becky McLaughlin: Joe is stuck. Literally. His job as a severed head in a haunted house has its ups and downs. On one hand, he spends time confined under a table. On the other, he gets to spend time chatting with his crush. But how does a guy make his move when he can't…move? (Cast: 8-16 any gender)

Bunkmates is a short play by Jeff Ronan: Shelley and Gary have a lot in common. They both love their pets, they both have a strong online presence, and they're both convinced Y2K is going to be our imminent downfall. (Cast: 1 female, 1 male)

Cluck Deluxe is a short comedy by Bonnie Antosh: Isa is finally bringing her girlfriend home for a Mississippi Thanksgiving, and she did not expect her biggest problem to be fast-food chicken. (Cast: 2 female)
