The acclaimed Samuel French Off Off Broadway Original Short Play Festival in Manhattan (commonly referred to as OOB) is America's leading short play festival. The annual OOB Festival originated in 1975 and has since attracted US and international short plays that may be up to 15 pages in length from countries like Canada, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

Off Off Broadway Festival Plays, 45th Series is a collection of short plays selected by a panel of judges that included New York playwrights, artistic directors, and industry leaders as the most important plays of the 45th OOB Festival. The Final 30 Playwrights competed for the six prize spots chosen from over 500 submissions worldwide. Six short plays were named the winners of the 2020 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival. The six winning authors are: Caity-Shea Violette, Carissa Atallah, Gethsemane Herron-Coward, Vincent Terrell Durham, Shara Feit, and Krista Knight.

Crush! is a ten-minute dark comedy by Krista Knight: Picking up roughly from where Kafka left off – a loner, squatter and rebel dares to love. Crush! follows the anti-morphosis through a series of beat poetry performances as the speaker draws nearer to the object of his desire and his undoing. (Cast: 1 male)

Masking Our Blackness is a ten-minute dark comedy by Vincent Terrell Durham: Five friends gather to welcome in the new year and share resolutions on how to survive another 365 days of being Black in America. (Cast: 2 female, 3 male)

Slow Jam is a ten-minute dark comedy by Caity-Shea Violette: Following their sex therapist's advice, Jamie and Charlie try to set the mood as they practice staying present during physical intimacy. A tenderly clumsy attempt to reclaim sexual connection in the wake of trauma. (Cast: 2 any gender)

The Falling Man is a ten-minute drama by Gethsemane Herron-Coward: In this powerful play inspired by Richard Drew's infamous photograph, two women war with a journalist in the aftermath of their father's absence post-9/11. (Cast: 2 female, 1 male)

Voir Dire is a ten-minute dark comedy by Carissa Atallah: Four women – diverse in age, ethnicity, and style – are interviewed for jury duty on a sexual assault case in New York City. (Cast: 4 female, 4 male 1 any gender)
