The acclaimed Samuel French Off Off Broadway Original Short Play Festival in Manhattan (commonly referred to as OOB) is America's leading short play festival. The annual OOB Festival originated in 1975 and has since attracted US and international short plays that may be up to 15 pages in length from countries like Canada, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.

Off Off Broadway Festival Plays, 46th Series is a collection of short plays selected by a panel of judges that included New York playwrights, artistic directors, and industry leaders as the most important plays of the 46th OOB Festival. The Final 30 Playwrights competed for the six prize spots chosen from over 750 submissions worldwide. Six short plays were named the winners of the 2021 Samuel French Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival. The six winning authors are: Bonnie Antosh, Jeff Ronan, Rodney Witherspoon II, Bixby Elliot, Daniel Hirsch, and Becky McLaughlin.

By Grace, Part Two is a ten-minute dramatic comedy by Agyeiwaa Asante: En route to an abortion clinic appointment, two friends – young Black women with very different skin tones – navigate questions about colourism, autonomy over one’s body and the way the world sees them. (Cast: 2 female)

Kitchen Design is a ten-minute drama by Suzanne Willett: A look at the dichotomy of the public and private female experience, from both a historical and contemporary perspective. (Cast: 3 female, 2 any gender)

pearl apple penguin is a ten-minute dramatic comedy by Aisling Towl: On a hot evening at London Zoo, two women meet by the penguin enclosure. Pearl would really like to stay. Apple would like to clean up and go home. They hurl questions at the universe. (Cast: 3 female)

Grieved. is a ten-minute drama by Jahquale Mazyck: A Black man and a Black woman sit together for what seems like just another wake. Their small talk quickly leads to a blowout as both parties must reconcile what it truly means for them to move on. (Cast: 1 female, 1 male)

Dogs of Society is a ten-minute dramatic comedy by Julia Grogan: Just how real is Reality TV? Who are the victims? Why are we so hungry for it? Dogs of Society exposes the lives of four reality TV stars as they grapple with their off-screen reality and thirst for fantasy. (Cast: 2 female, 3 male)

All Things Considered…Probably the Most Productive Meeting the EUSD PTA Ever Had is a ten-minute comedy by A.J. Ditty: The last three remaining members of The Escondido Unified School District PTA meet over Zoom. Attendance is taken. Motions are proposed. No one is okay. (Cast: 2 female, 2 male)
