About the Play:

Sex on the Sixth Floor is a full-length comedy by John Patrick, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Teahouse of the August Moon. These three one-act plays reveal three amorous events all taking place in different apartments on the sixth floor of an enormous New York apartment building. There are three characters (one female, two male) in each playlet and those three actors play the different roles in the different apartments.

In Tenacity a rather shy young man is treated like a poodle by his girl friend, but with the help of his bulldog tenacity – and a dash of duplicity, he is "rewarded" – almost.

In Ambiguity a young police officer is detailed to dress up as a woman to decoy muggers in the Park. Having donned feminine attire, he is saved a trip to the Park by being mugged in his own apartment.

In Frustration an actress, well-known for playing prostitutes with conviction, is employed by a wealthy father to determine the sexual inclinations of his son.

Sex on the Sixth Floor premiered in 1979 at the Garland Dinner Theater in Columbia, Maryland. Since then the play has been performed in regional, college, and community theatre productions.

Cast: 1 female, 2 male
