About
the Play:
Small Actors is a one-act comedic drama by Stephen
Gregg. An unfortunate budding actress shoots for the stars in
auditioning for Juliet in the famous Shakespearean tragedy, but is
ultimately gets the part of servant number two. Small Actors
teaches audiences the value of honesty as the actress's mistake comes
back to haunt her. Especially
recommended for school and contest use. Small Actors tells the story of Emily, a high school student who desperately
wants to play the lead in her school's play, Romeo and
Juliet. Instead, she gets a one-line, four-word role. The plot thickens when she lies to her family telling her parents (who will be out of town during the
performance) that she actually got the part of Juliet, and suddenly, things spin way out
of control. Mom and Dad cancel their vacation plans and invite every
relative they can round up to come visit and see their daughter play
Juliet. Hilarity and drama
ensue as Emily tries to balance her life through all the preventable
chaos. Small Actors is an outlandishly funny
and very touching show about the roles we all play – in theatre and
in life.
