About the Play:
The Ladies Foursome is a full-length comedy by Norm
Foster. On the day after the funeral of a friend, four women
gather for a round of golf in honour of their recently deceased
playing partner. From the tee-off to the final hole, The Ladies Foursome offers some of the funniest, most outrageous, and touching golf swings in the history of the game.
The Ladies Foursome is a funny, fast-paced, heartwarming
story of friendship inspired by the popular play The Foursome.
The day after their friend Catherine's funeral, Margot, Tate, and
Connie gather for a round of golf in honour of their recently
departed fourth. At the gold course they are joined by another woman,
an old friend of Catherine's they'd never met before, named Dory. The four women harbour secrets that surface as they proceed from one tee to the next over the course of 18 holes. The confessions are revealed through comedic interactions between the four unique personalities as the women discuss
love, sex, children, and everything in between. The fun starts at the first tee when golfer Tate starts stretching to "loosen up" and Margot does the same by cracking open a beer! Lighthearted and funny, The Ladies Foursome is a fun-filled romp from beginning to end.
The Ladies Foursome premiered in 2014 at Upper Canada Playhouse
in Morrisburg, Ontario. Soon after, the play received an American premiere at the B Street
Theatre in Sacramento, California, and since then it has been widely produced at regional and community theatres across North America.

What people say:
"The show is definitely worth the price of admission." — Broadway World
"The laughs aren't just laughs. They're big laughs that continue tickling the funny bone, erupting from the throat, shaking the shoulders, long after they're lobbed home. When Foster is on form, as
he is here, there's not much better theatre around." — Hamilton Spectator
"Foster builds his smoothly flowing laugh machine, and still, he's able to grasp an emotionally viable resolution." — Sacramento Bee
"A show that remains winsome and buoyant in the face of weighty, potentially melodramatic themes, weaving from heartache to humor while creating a quartet of memorable and unpredictable characters." — Spokane Spokesman-Review About the Playwright:
Norm
Foster enjoyed a 25-year career as the morning man at independent
radio stations in Thunder Bay, Winnipeg, and Kingston, before finally
ending up in Fredericton, where he began writing plays. He is
considered to be Canada's most produced playwright, with more than
fifty-five critically acclaimed plays that are known for their
humour, accessibility, and insight into the everyday tribulations of
life. He is the recipient of the Los Angeles Drama-Logue Award for
his play, The Melville Boys which would go on to be produced
across Canada and in the United States, including a well-received run off Broadway in New York. It would become his signature play, and the
one which would bring his name to the forefront of Canadian theatre.
