About the Book:
Working with the Voice....
In The Right to Speak, renowned voice teacher Patsy Rodenburg teaches you how to meet any speaking challenge with total self-assurance.
Patsy Rodenburg has trained thousands of actors, singers, media personalities, lawyers, politicians, business people, teachers and students in the art of using their voice fully and expressively without fear. She has taught them how to breathe, how to support their breath, how to stretch their voice to meet any vocal effort and how to have total confidence in whatever they say--"the right to speak."
What people say:
"Patsy Rodenburg is one of the handful of people in the world who understand that the use of the voice by actors and public speakers engages the heart, the mind and the body. There is no teacher, in my experience, who brings all these together with such wisdom and patience." — Richard Eyre, Director - Royal National Theatre
"Patsy Rodenburg's work is well known internationally. Her workshops are highly sought after and I am delighted she has crystallized her thoughts so succinctly into this magnum opus." — D. Garfield Davies, Director of the Voice Clinic, Middlesex Hospital, London
"Patsy Rodenburg is one of the best teachers I have ever known, she is a constant source of strength and inspiration." — Antony Sher, actor
"Even a short experience of working with Patsy Rodenburg brings striking insights into the way we use voice and body and how we can change these. Patsy’s work releases untapped resources of energy, sensitivity and activity, and I can appreciate how useful this is in professional training, not only for actors but for all persons concerned with the way in which we express and suppress ourselves." — Dr. Malcolm Pines, Psychoanalyst
"Working with Patsy Rodenburg is a combination of adventure and empowerment. Nothing passes her attention. Nothing seems an impossibility." — Rose English, performer and comedienne
