About the Author:

Tad Lathrop is a guitarist, music writer, and alumnus of MTV Interactive, Billboard, CBS Publishing, and Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI). He has developed educational music programming for the K-12 and college levels and has lectured on music and music business topics at the City University of New York and in San Francisco State University's Music Recording Industry Program.

Outside the music industry, he has brought his communications, marketing, writing, and editorial expertise to such diverse companies and institutions as Charles Schwab, McCann-Erickson Advertising, and the University of California, Berkeley. He lives in Oakland, California.
