About the Author:
Evan S. Smith is a professor at Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and is a regular speaker at the American Film Institute. As a screenwriter, he has written comedy and drama for Paramount, MTM, Fox, USA and other producers, and has worked as a vice president of Program Development responsible for developing TV movies, series, and specials. When not teaching, he writes, studies the craft of writing, and serves as a private script consultant.
